I first developed an enthusiasm for cycle touring when I rode the popular Lands End to John O’ Groats bicycle ride, navigating my way up the length of the UK. Following this trip, I decided to head west and ride my bicycle 4500 miles from the east coast to west coast of the USA. And more recently, my bicycle and I decided to take on the world (so to speak). Together we journeyed 16,000 miles across 24 countries starting in Melbourne, Australia and finishing at my home in England. My trip took 10 months taking me through the hot arid deserts of Australia to the treacherous, freezing conditions of the Tibetan plateaux- from the urban extravaganza of Singapore to the empty plains of Kazakhstan. The nomadic life of a touring cyclist meant sleeping under bridges, in forests, out in the dusty sun baked bushland, but most favourably in the delights of strangers homes, where the true essence of the country came to life. I look forward to sharing my adventure with you.
