Stephen Gill, ASICI (Accredited Senior in Imaging in the Creative Industries) and FRPS (Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society), is a distinguished British photographer renowned for his expertise in photo restoration, historical photograph dating, and authorship.
With over 50 years of experience, Gill offers professional photo restoration services through his business, Photo-Consult, based in Tottington, Bury, Lancashire. His meticulous approach ensures that each photograph is handled with care and human intelligence, rather than relying solely on artificial intelligence. 
Gill is also an accomplished author, having written “Dating by Design 1840-1915: A New Way of Dating Old Photographs”. This work provides readers with an accessible method for dating historical photographs, enriched with superb, original, colorised images. 
In addition to his restoration and writing endeavours, Gill shares his knowledge through lectures and presentations. For instance, in February 2022, he delivered a talk to the University of Ontario, discussing aspects of photography and photo restoration.

About Their Talks...

I can offer a variety of talks all related to the history of family photography. This includes photo-restoration, dating and identification, research and storage. In recent months these have been added to with talks on the impact of Artifiical Intelligence on genealogy and family history research. All talks are aimed at a one hour length with Q’s & A’s afterwards. Talks can be delivered live or via Zoom. I also can accommodate international zoom talks and have ones booked for Queensland and America
In coming months I have live talks in Sussex, Darlington, Buxton and Sheffield. Live talks over 2hr travel time require overnight accommodation please.
