About Vince Eager...

During the late 1950s, early 1960s I was one of Britains top teen idols, I say that in all modesty as that’s how I was billed. The 6-5 Special, Oh Boy!, Drumbeat and Thank Your Lucky Stars were all television shows I was a regular on for both the BBC and ITV. My recording career only enjoyed moderate success however, there’s still appears to be a market for my recordings., as my last CD came out only five years ago. My theatre and cabaret work however have stood the test of time and I’m still performing some 60 plus years later. Having appeared on cruise ships both as an act and for 14 years as Cruise Director, I have a wealth of tales to tell over the course of my three presentations, and I relish the appreciation of the audiences following my talks. I was also very honoured to have been chosen to play the lead role in the award winning West End production, “Elvis the Musical which I toured the world with between 1981 to 1985.

About his talks...

I have a wealth of tales to tell over the course of my three presentations and I do my utmost to ensure that they are light hearted and will hopefully leave my audiences wanting more. I relish the appreciation of the audiences following my talks and I’m prepared to pass on details of bookers who have, up until covid, booked two presentations with some a third.

Like many I’ve adapted to Zoom in order to continue these past 18 months, but I much prefer s live audience. I guess it’s the performer in me. If you require any further info please don’t hesitate to give me a call or drop me an email.

You're Never Too Old To Rock 'n' Roll

This is the story of my rise through the ranks of from a six years old chorister to appearing on BBC’s television show Come Dancing in a skiffle contest when I was seventeen. How I was signed up by the most successful pop star manager who managed Tommy Steele, Marty Wilde, Billy Fury, and Joe Brown. How they were not only competition, but became good pals and I reveal some of the mischief and mayhem we created when on tour. How I had a fight with one of televisions smallest big stars, and was award in a very special way by the BBC.

Life After Eurovision

Entertainer and Public Speaker Vince Eager

My second presentation picks up where my first presentation left off with the problems I had during the 1960 Eurovision Song Contest. How my image was changed just prior to transmission which resulted in my receiving death threats following my performance. How Joe Brown and I came up with a cheeky idea that helped our ladies dancers kick higher. How I had to choose between becoming Elvis or Alvin Stardust. The Hollywood megastar whose blushes I helped to save when she had a dress malfunction. Being chosen as the support artist for the biggest rock n’ roll tour ever in 1960 and how one of the American stars of the show became my best pal, but only for four months.

What Time Is The Midnight Buffet

Entertainer and Public Speaker Vince Eager

From the age of ten I’ve always been infatuated by oceans, ships and the places they visit, so when I was offered my first cruise as an entertainer in the late 1960s I jumped at the opportunity. Following many cruises as an entertainer, I eventually took on the more permanent role of a Cruise Director. With my wife by my side as the onboard travel manager, we sailed the seven seas for fourteen years. My cruise presentation reveals almost everything you didn’t or wouldn’t know about cruising. It goes behind the scenes and reveals often hilarious, or worry facts about cruising. From the glamorous to the ginormous, I go behind the scenes looking at what some passengers get up to, and how the crew get their own back.
